Extreme Hockey and Sport opened its doors and celebrated its grand opening at 1425 McIntyre Street on January 13, 2001.  Owner Jason Degelman had previously been a partner in the Play it Again Sports franchise from 1995 to 2001 and had been employed by Western Cycle from 1988-1995.  Jason was involved in competitive sport in his hometown of Southey until 1987 at which time he was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident which halted his competitive play.  At that time, Jason was a member of the Regina Saints fastball team, the AAA Yorkton Mallers hockey team and had accepted a scholarship to the University of North Dakota.

Jason put his love of sport into his career and has built a very strong team at Extreme Hockey and Sport.  The company employees on average 30 employees and prides itself on excellent customer service in hockey and base/fastball equipment, performance clothing and corporate business.  The staff is trained by attending dealer factories, product knowledge seminars given by dealer representatives, sales meetings and a variety of professional tradeshows.

Jason and his wife Lisa consistently push the envelop with keeping Extreme Hockey a grassroots company by being very involved in Hockey Regina, Sask Baseball, The 3~4~5 Fun League, Wilcox’s Notre Dame College and many First Nations bands.  The company is also heavily involved within many social community groups; especially with the Red Cross Anti-Bullying and Kid Sport programs.  This involvement emphasizes the Degelman’s focus on the grassroot levels of sport involvement.    The store carries leading brands including Bauer, Graf, Under Armour, Easton, RBK, Warrior, Hollas, Nike, Mizuno and many other edgy names.  Extreme Hockey and Sport is considered a pro shop and is the exclusive dealer for products such as Graf Canada. The company and Graf have been partners since the company’s inception and continue to grow their partnership strongly.
